PLASTIC DOCUMENTARY REVEALS HARSH TRUTH ABOUT DAMAGES TO OUR OCEANS AND MARINE LIFE
Film Students from California State Dominguez Hills announce the official release of
“THE PLASTIC DISASTER”, written and directed by Jeanine Carrere, Farida Alami and Salvador Velazquez. Inspired by a their passion for our environment and health, the film premiered at the August 2017 Film Screening at Cal State Dominguez Hills and will screen at upcoming Local Film Festivals.
Jeanine, Farida and Sal didn’t hold back when it came to tracking down local Los Angeles surfers, volunteers and organizations such as; SURFRIDER, MARINE MAMMAL CARE CENTER, ALGALITA and HEAL THE BAY.
THE PLASTIC DISASTER documentary has interviews with Gilbert Castillion – Surfrider Beach Clean Up Coordinator, Anika Ballent – Algalita Marine Research Education Director, Nancy Shrodes – Heal the Bay Outreach Manager, and Christopher Nagle – Marine Mammal Care Center Marine Biologist.
Producer Jeanine Carrere passionately states.“Although plastic is apart of our everyday lives, our bodies, our environment and our marine life are paying the consequences. We have to start making changes and sacrifice CONVENIENCE for HEALTH”.
